GRAPPA REPLACING WINE?

Some winemakers are turning to grappa after a warehouse fire destroyed more than 70 suppliers wine inventories this fall. Ted Hall of Long Meadow Ranch in Napa Valley is using the pomace that normally would have served as fertilizer to make up to 50 cases of the after-dinner drink. This way Ted can keep the Long Meadow name prevalent despite the huge amount of loss he has endured from the fire.
