WHOLESALERS FIGHT TO DISTRIBUTE

Oklahoma wine and spirits wholesalers filed a lawsuit yesterday in hopes to maintain the 3-tier system in the OK state. The state previously allowed direct wine-shipping within its borders before the Supreme Court decision last year; however, wholesalers are lobbying to end direct shipping in the state altogether calling it a “discriminatory special privilege.” Said spokesperson Bruce Robertson, "Since it is apparent that the Oklahoma system will need to change in light of the Supreme Court decision, we needed to file suit to ask for a system consistent with our state's history of carefully regulating alcohol."
