FROM PRODUCE TO BOXED WINE, LASSONDE’S BRANCHING OUT

Lassonde Industries, Inc., one of Canada’s largest fruit and vegetable juice producers, created a new subsidiary specializing in boxed wines. Arista Wines Inc. will prepare and distribute imported wines that will be sold in one-litre Tetra Pak Prisma cartons instead of traditional bottles. Five new wines under the Bistro Mundo Import trademark will be distributed by Arista through grocery and c-store chains in Quebec. Jocelyn Tremblay, former president of the Quebec provincial liquor board for over a decade, will takeover as Arista’s president and chief. He has served on Lassonde’s board for the past two years.
