HISPANICS #1 FOR WINE CONSUMPTION AMONG ETHNIC GROUPS
Wine consumption among Hispanics is growing more than any other ethnic or consumer group. According to a survey issued by the Wine Market Council, 31% of Hispanic wine drinkers consume more wine now than they did in the last few years, while only 11% of Caucasians say they do the same. Research says that Hispanics are 50% more likely to enjoy wine only for a special occasion or celebration than Caucasians. Hispanics (33%) also consume more imported wines compared to other ethnic groups (30%) while only 22% of Caucasians do the same. Argentinean and Chilean wines are the favorite imports among Hispanics, usually with cabernet, merlot chardonnay and sauvignon blanc taking center stage.
