VINCOR SAYS GOODBYE TO LONGTIME LEADER
Ever since Constellation and Vincor announced their acquisition agreement, Vincor’s president and chief Donald Triggs has remained mum on whether he would accept a role in the newly merged company.
However, Donald made the much expected announcement yesterday, stating he would leave the company now that it’s acquisition by Constellation has been completed and pursue other opportunities.
"While we anticipated Don's departure, he will be missed," said Rob Sands, Constellation Brands president and COO. "In the nearly 17 years he was with the company that he founded, Don grew Vincor into the world's eighth largest wine company.”
Jay Wright, formerly president of Vincor Canada, will replace Donald as CEO of Vincor and will be responsible for leading the company in Canada.
"Canada comprises Constellation's fifth core market, the others being the U.S., Europe, Australia and New Zealand," explained Sands. "The Canadian wine business and market are healthy and offer long-term growth opportunities."
