CASTLE BRANDS COUNTER LOSSES WITH VODKA

U.S. spirits group Castle Brands balanced an operating loss of $4.1 million with a jump in Boru vodka sales, up 37% despite reduced ad spend. Irish whiskey sales were up 24% while Castle Brands rum increased 10%. Overall, sales grew 30% in the U.S.

Gross profits were up 8% to $1.9 million for the three months to June 30, while net sales grew 11% to $5.5 million for the company overall.
