REPUBLIC BEVERAGE ACQUIRES HORIZON
Republic Beverage’s Kentucky operation announced it has acquired Horizon Wine and Spirits. Says Tom Cole, COO of Republic:
“The current portfolio of premium wines represented by Horizon will complement the brands at RBC-KY and will make Republic the largest wine wholesaler in the state. This will allow RBC-KY to continue to build brands in the important on-premise channel.”
President of Republic Kentucky, Vertner Smith, stated that the existing sales and management team will remain in place and that Horizon will become a division of Republic Kentucky. Horizon’s distribution facility will also be incorporated into Republic after year-end to “ensure a smooth transition” according to Smith.
