ITALIAN WINE TRUMPS OTHER IMPORTS

Italian wine exports to the U.S. jumped 7% last year, according to Lucio Caputo, president of the Italian Wine & Food Institute. In value terms, Lucio said shipments to the U.S. reached over $1 billion - a jump of 7.8%.

Caputo said that Italian export revenues to the U.S. are now twice that of sales from France, four times that of Chilean wines and seven times that of Spanish wines.
