WEST VIRGINIA ON THE TRACK TO DIRECT SHIPMENTS
In May of 2005, the Supreme Court ruled that reciprocity discriminates against wineries in non-reciprocal states, and effectively quashed the practice. As shipcompliantblog.com reports, there are only 7 reciprocity states left and there may soon be one less. A West Virginia senate bill recently passed the state Congress and is expected to be signed by the Governor. If signed, the bill would allow in-state and out-of-state wineries to ship up to two cases of wine per month directly to adult residents.
