HIGH FALLS BREWING TO DISTRIBUTE SEAGRAM’S COOLERS
Pernod Ricard USA will transfer its Seagram’s Coolers brand from United States Beverage (USB) to High Falls Brewing, effective July 1. High Falls will be the exclusive wholesaler and marketer in the U.S., the Caribbean and U.S. Military posts worldwide. USB, which has distributed the brand since 2002, will continue through the end of June.
High Falls plans to add 90 new jobs, according to local reports, and will receive financial aid in upgrading the brewery as it assumes responsibility for production..
Earlier this year Pernod filed a lawsuit in a U.S. District Court against USB on the grounds that its five year contract to sell Seagram’s Cooler expired at the end of March. USB argued, however, that it paid Pernod over $30 million and spent additional money to market Seagram’s in return for a long-term agreement.
"USB has been a dedicated partner in a very competitive category, and we'd like to thank them for their past efforts," said Alain Barbet, Pernod USA president and chief.
