SUPREME COURT DENIES VIRGINIA CASE

The Supreme Court has refused to hear a lawsuit brought against the state of Virginia from several wineries and retailers. The lawsuit challenged a decision made by the 4th Circuit Court of Appeals in September that restricts consumers from bringing more than one gallon of alcoholic beverage into the state, and also authorized state-run ABC wineries to sell only Virginia wine. Both had previously been deemed unconstitutional by a lower court.
