CALIFORNIA GROCERY WORKERS EXPECTED TO SIGN CONTRACT.
Union workers at Southern California’s three largest supermarkets (Ralphs, Albertsons and Safeway) are reportedly expected to approve a tentative contract with the retailers. Terms of the deal were not disclosed, but Union members will hear the details before voting is held on Sunday. The United Food and Commerical Workers union called it a “victory for all grocery workers.”
The negotiations have lasted over six months and focus mainly on wage increases, health-care costs and seniority.
