CRU BOURGEOIS CLASSIFIED AS FRAUD

The French fraud office has officially banned the Cru Bourgeois classification, making the use of the term Cru Bourgeois on bottles illegal. Decanter.com reports that the decision comes after an initial suspension in February 2007 following legal challenges by excluded property owners. It is still unclear when the ruling will go into effect.
