WASHINGTON WINE PIONEER PASSES AWAY

We regret to report that Chas W. Nagel, a California wine country native whose scientific research was instrumental in developing Washington's premium wine industry, has died at the age of 81. The AP report that Nagel died Thursday (July 5) after battling a long illness and is survived by his wife and five children.
