MANAGEMENT SHUFFLE AT KROGER

Kroger announced that Pete Williams will move from president of Kroger's Mid-Atlantic division to senior vp, effective Aug. 19. Jay Cummins will replace Williams as president of the Mid-Atlantic division, leaving his current post as president of the Food 4 Less division. David Hirz, meanwhile, will replace Cummins at Food 4 Less. Lastly, Mike Donnelly will replace Hirz as the head of Ralphs Food Stores.

Kroger operates more than 2,400 supermarkets and multi-department stores in 31 states. The company recorded a profit of $1.1 billion on $66.1 billion in sales for its fiscal year ended Feb. 3.
