CHILEAN EXPORTS TO U.S. CHUG ALONG
Chile’s wine exports jumped 35% in the first half of the year to $546 million in value terms, according to the agriculture ministry’s office, or ODEPA. In terms of volume, exports rose 28% to 177 million liters. The UK accounted for 20% of Chile’s exports, while the US made up 14%.
Earlier this summer, Chile created a new wine association to help align vintners in building a stronger export market.
