FEDERAL COURT HALTS SOCIAL SECURITY “NO MATCH” PLAN

The wine and restaurant industries can breathe a (temporary) sigh of relief. A federal court has issued a temporary injunction against the Bush administration's plan to cut down on illegal immigration. The Bush administration planned to threaten restaurants and other businesses with a hefty fine ($10,000) if they did not fire employees whose Social Security information does not match government records.
