GERMAN RIESLING REACHES NEW HIGH

Riesling exports from Germany reached their highest level ever in 2006, according to the latest figures from Wines of Germany, while overall exports reached almost 3 million hectoliters. As usual, the UK was the largest export market for German wine, while the US took the number two spot. In the US, value of German wine sales rose 27% yoy and volume grew 16%.
