SAFEWAY APPOINTS NEW PRES. OF MARKETING

Safeway has promoted former senior vp of marketing Michael Minasi to president of marketing, the company said today (Sept. 13). He reports to Steven Burd (chairman and ceo), Frank Calfas (pres. of marketing operations), Des Hague (perishables) and David Lee (non-perishables).
