COSTCO U.S. COMPS GROW 6%
Costco said November same-store sales rose 9% from last year thanks to strong international growth, particularly in Canada and the U.K. U.S. same-store sales grew 6% in the period and 4% excluding gas price inflation.
“The U.S. comparable sales figure includes, among other things, the effect of recent gasoline price inflation, with the average sales price per gallon of gasoline up 35% year-over-year for the month of November,” said the company in a statement.
Helped by foreign exchange rates, international same-store sales grew a whopping 21%.
