UK GOVT. PROPOSES TIGHTER SCOTCH REGULATIONS

The UK government is consulting on a new legislation proposal to protect the Scotch whisky industry from foreign imitators and more tightly define the descriptions applied to Scotch, like single malt or blended grain. Similar to Champagne, the legislation would also define Scotch’s geographical origin and that the whisky come from the distillery specified on the bottle.
